Gita Piramal
Gita Piramal (also referred as 'Dr. Gita Piramal', born: around 1954) is a renowned media personality, freelance writer, business historian, managing editor of The Smart Manager magazine, Director of BP Ergo and former director of VIP Industries Limited.[1][2] She was married into Mumbai-based Piramal business family and featured in 25 Most Powerful Women in Indian Business in 2004.[3]
Education
She holds the MA in History and the PhD in Business History from Bombay University in 1989.[2][3][4]
Professional career
- Gita worked as a Bombay correspondent for Financial Times from 1988 to 1992.[3]
- Gita Piramal had worked as the Associate Dean for Indian School of Business's publishing arm - ISB Interactive.[5]
- She has also worked as Member LBS Regional Advisory Board.[6]
- She has been working as managing editor of The Smart Manager, a management magazine, based at Mumbai, since 2002.
- She has written for many years on the corporate sector for leading Indian and international publications such as The Financial Times and The Economic Times and is a consulting editor of the World Executive’s Digest. She also has been involved in the making of television programmes on Indian business for the BBC and Plus Channel.[4]

Personal life
Gita spent most of her childhood in London. She married Dilip Piramal of VIP Industries Limited around 1979.[2] They divorced in 2005. Dilip and Gita had two daughters, Radhika and Aparna. Radhika studied in England and completed an MBA from Harvard Business School.[13] Aparna married Amit Raje in June-2005. After the divorce, Dilip married to Shalini Agarwal in June-2005.[14]
